Privacy Policy

Uncle Tools ("we") complies with the Personal Information Protection Act and related laws to protect the freedom and rights of data subjects, and processes personal information lawfully and manages it securely. Accordingly, under Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act and Article 31 of its Enforcement Decree, we establish and publish this privacy policy to inform data subjects of the procedures and standards for processing and protecting personal information, and to handle related complaints promptly and smoothly.
This policy applies to the web services Uncle Tools provides. We do not sell or rent personal information.
The following summarizes the important points of this policy. See each section for details.
We process personal information only to the minimum extent needed to provide the service, under the Personal Information Protection Act. We do not use the personal information we process for purposes other than those below, and if the purpose of use changes we take required measures such as obtaining separate consent under Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
We do not run user accounts and we do not collect account details such as name, email address, or phone number.
We process the following without the data subject's consent.
Recent fortune lookup history is not stored on our servers. It may remain in your browser local storage (localStorage or sessionStorage) until you delete it.

We collect ad consent in Google consent management (CMP). If you refuse or withdraw it, we stop processing identifiers used for personalized ads. Ads may be less relevant or fewer ads may be shown.
If another law requires us to keep information, we store it separately from other personal information for that period. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services for how Google uses data on partner sites.
We do not operate services directed at children under 14, and we do not collect information to check age or obtain a legal representative's consent. Fortune and the lunisolar calendar accept a birth date, so a date you enter may belong to someone under 14. Even then we do not run a separate children's service and we use the date only to return the requested result.
When the retention period ends or the purpose of processing is met, we destroy the personal information without delay. We do not create paper records of personal information. Records held on our servers or by processors are deleted in those systems in a way that makes recovery difficult. Lookup records left in the browser can be deleted by you.
We do not provide personal information to third parties.
If you follow an ad or affiliate link to another site, that site's privacy policy applies. That is not provision of personal information by us to a third party.
We do not make additional use or provision under Articles 15(3) and 17(4) of the Personal Information Protection Act.
We entrust personal information processing as follows to handle the work smoothly.

When we enter an entrustment contract, under Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act we document a prohibition on processing outside the entrusted purpose, technical and administrative safeguards, limits on subcontracting, supervision of the processor, and liability for damages, and we supervise the processor. If a processor or its work changes, we publish it through this policy. Details of overseas entrustment are in "7. Collection and transfer of personal information abroad."
We do not collect personal information directly abroad. The transfers below are all processing entrusted or stored, and fall under Article 28-8(1)3 of the Personal Information Protection Act (overseas entrustment or storage to perform a contract). Ads also fall under Article 28-8(1)1 (consent) when you consent in Google consent management, and web/app push also falls under that clause when you allow notifications. The time of transfer is when you use the website, consent to ads, or allow push, and the method is encrypted network transmission.
How to refuse a transfer and the effect: refusing ads in Google consent management can stop transfers of personalized-ad identifiers. Blocking cookies in the browser can reduce statistics and ad transfers to Google and Microsoft. Turning off push notifications can stop transfers to Firebase. The Vercel hosting transfer is needed to provide the site, so refusing it makes the site hard to use. Blocking cookies may limit statistics and ads.
We take the following measures under Article 29 of the Personal Information Protection Act, Article 30 of its Enforcement Decree, and the Standards for Safeguarding Personal Information.
We do not process sensitive information. We also do not operate a feature for publishing sensitive information.
We do not process pseudonymized information.
We use cookies to provide the service, compile usage statistics, and show ads. A cookie is a small amount of information a web server sends to your browser, and the browser sends it back to the server when you visit the website.
You can refuse cookie storage in your browser settings.
Blocking cookies may limit some features. You can refuse or withdraw ad cookies in Google consent management.
We allow third parties to collect behavioral information through automatic collection devices while you use the website, in a way that does not identify the data subject as a member.
How to refuse: you can refuse ads in Google consent management, block cookies as in "11. Automatic collection devices," use ad settings, or follow the steps in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can still use the service if you refuse, but ads may be less relevant or analytics may be limited. Inquiries can be sent to privacy.uncletools@jy.is.
A data subject may at any time ask us to access personal information, demand portability, correct or delete it, stop processing, or withdraw consent. We do not provide a separate access or correction screen on the website. You may exercise these rights through privacy.uncletools@jy.is or in writing with the same content, including through a legal representative or an authorized agent. In that case, a power of attorney in attached Form 11 of the Notification on Methods of Processing Personal Information is required.
Procedure: we receive the request → confirm that the requester is you or a lawful agent → take action → reply with the result. We act without delay from the day we receive the request. We may refuse deletion where a law requires us to keep the information, and access or a processing stop may be limited under Articles 35(4) and 37(2) of the Personal Information Protection Act.
We do not make fully automated decisions that have a material effect on the rights or obligations of a data subject.
We put the following department in charge of personal information processing overall, and of handling complaints and providing remedies. We do not publish the privacy officer's name; we give the responsible department and contact.
A data subject may use the contact above for all privacy inquiries, complaints, remedies, and access requests that arise while using the service. We reply and handle them without delay.
We are a personal information controller with an address or place of business in Korea and have not appointed a domestic agent.
If you need to report or consult about a personal information infringement, you may contact the institutions below. You may also use them if you are not satisfied with our handling.
We do not operate fixed video-processing devices.

This privacy policy applies from August 17, 2026. If terms are added, removed, or corrected, we publish the change, when it takes effect, and the changed content on this page. After a revision, we also publish the previous version with its period of application.
If a change has a material effect on data subjects' rights, such as the items processed or the purpose of processing, we provide a before-and-after comparison before it takes effect.
